hi! this is the same anon who asked about the writing thing but--since they all had switched classes, is how you tagged/call them what they refer to each other as? (so like everyone refers to them as mediscout, engimed, demo-spy, etc.) or do they just refer to them as their new classes (so referring to the mediscout purely as Medic?) obviously they call solly spyder (which i think is so cute and very fun :>) but im curious about the others! so i guess this goes into the territory of: are there any nicknames they all call each other--or at least ones you think stand out?
Hello hello! First of all, thank you so much for asking so many questions and allowing me to talk about my AU to you all, I really appreciate that you guys are enjoying this as much as I am! <3
Second of all, I'm so sorry this took so long to answer!! I have seen your other ask concerning the writing for my AU, and I have to tell you beforehand that it's okay if you lost motivation or inspiration to write this during the long wait. I totally understand if you don’t feel like doing this anymore. Please don't force yourself to write for something you lost interest in. But I’ll gladly still infodump you about the AU!
Names:
Sure, if you wanted to you could just call them their job names. It would make it easier for the readers to recognize each character, but I do have some actual names I came up with if you prefer something more natural sounding!
All the job switched mercs chose their own names, but I deliberately made the names they chose sound as close as possible to the OG Red mercs'. Because the irony here is that they are clones who try so desperately to be unique and different from the OG team, but still managed to somehow copy them despite all their efforts not to.
But I'm really shit at naming things so the effect was kinda lost :')
Sniper as Soldier- Monday or Mondy
Reason: When asked about his name choice, he paused for a moment and asked back, "what day is it today?"
"Monday."
"Monday it is, then."
Soldier as Spy- June or Spyder
Scout as Medic- Germs (short for germinoma) (yeah idk what happened with this one but I didn't wanna call him Jerry either)
Reason: June chose the wrong day to ask Germs about name choices. When asked, the battle worn, tired, salty field-medic grabbed a random medical book from his bookshelf; opened the book; flipped to a random page; viciously stabbed his finger on a random spot on the page and read the word under his finger: "germinoma"- all the while maintaining direct eye contact. It was supposed to be sarcastic. June took it literally, so it became his permanent nickname (much to his dismay)
Medic as Engineer- Ludovic (sometimes they call him Ludo, for short)
Spy as Demoman- Louise, Lois, Lassie, Louisiana, Lyse (any name similar sounding enough to Lois works)
Reason: His "boom sticks" are modified versions of an actual French cigarette brand called "Gauloises". Since none of the mercs actually knows how to read French, they severely butchered the pronunciation and ended up just dropping the beginning of the word entirely, sticking with "loises". However, everyone had varying interpretations of how to pronounce THAT too. So his exact name remains a mystery, and he won't clarify either (he finds it fun to see them try and guess).
Demoman as Sniper- Trevis
Heavy as Pyro- Mikel
Engineer as Heavy- Belle
Pyro as Scout- Zippo
Reason: ya know... zippo lighters... and he's a scout now, so he ZIPS past you... get it?
These are all very bad names, I know, but hopefully you can tolerate my utterly abysmal naming skills :')
Nicknames:
- Monday sometimes calls Lois "Goldilocks" as his own godawful pronounciation of "Gauloises". It annoys Lois to no ends and Mondy loves it.
- He also sometimes calls Germs "bun-bun" to piss him off about his buck teeth. He feels too bad to joke about Belle's tho.
- Monday uses the most nicknames with others, 90% of which is to mock or annoy but it's all in good fun (usually)
- THEY'RE ALWAYS THE SILLIEST NICKNAMES TOO, WITH EVEN SILLER STORIES BEHIND THEM. Just think of the dumbest, goofiest, sounding names
- He once honest to God called Mikel "Jason" and did NOT elaborate
- Germs rivals Monday with his own silly nicknames for everyone, but his tend to be a bit more... vulgar
- "HEY FUCKNUGGETS"
- "fly high, chucklefest junior!"
- "calm down Colonel shrinky-dink"
Okay, that's it for now. love you, bye bye, I'll see u again in another ask!

Great addition! Also:
Although they sound similar, "would of" is incorrect. It is a misspelling of "would have". It doesn’t exist as grammatically correct phrase in English. Some people erroneously write would of instead of would have because that is how people pronounce the phrase in informal speech. When you contract would have to would’ve, it sounds similar to would of, so it’s an easy mistake to make.
Found this great article on the topic too:
"Of" is usually a preposition, but also may function as a verb, typically when used as a substitution for "have", as in ‘I could of written it correct, but wanted to see what you’d say if I didn’t.’
The reason for why of came to be used for have is that the latter word (and even more so its contracted form, seen in could’ve, should’ve, would’ve) is unstressed when spoken. There is very little phonetic difference between “I could’ve paid attention in English class” and “I could of paid attention in English class.” The spoken version of this is far more common than the written one, but there is considerable evidence of both.
This use, it should be noted, is widely shunned by usage guides, schoolteachers, people who send you annoying articles on social media about the declining state of education today, and well-nigh everyone else. So why do we define it? Because of that considerable evidence mentioned in the last paragraph.
A scouting report written by Captain Isaac Beall during the Revolutionary War contains a couple of our earlier instances of the word used in this fashion, illustrating that of, while not terribly common in writing at that time, has been with us for well over two hundred years now.
I was inform’d by a Capt’n of Molitia that about Two Hundred would be Imbodyed by Mondy Nite a plenty of Good Pilets are amongs them—if I could of been join’d by a party of the Molitia which I apply’d for I would of attacted the body that lay in the English Nabourhood, I had not a guid nor could Get non tell the Next day. —Isaac Beall, Letter to Adam Stephen, 20 Apr. 1777
The verb form of of begins to show up in print more often in the 19th century, generally when an author is attempting to replicate the speech of an uneducated person.
There lay the poor boy, dead enough: and all the doctors in Philadelphia couldn’t of been of no manner of service, so there warn’t any use in snivering and chafing. —Jabez Rankin, Spirit of the Times, 26 Dec. 1840 Now, old fellow, you might of heard that we like to have got into a war with the British about some boundary or other. —Portsmouth Journal of Literature and Politics, 5 Aug. 1843 The old man’s heart promptly quailed. He stood dumfounded and forgot Mandy and the other man’s wife in the face of his new foe. “If I’d of known it was you,” he said, “I wouldn’t of done it.” —The San Diego Union and Daily Bee, 3 Apr. 1893
The use appears to have been common enough that it was lampooned in an article in the late 19th century, along with questionable uses of the past tense of to do.
Possible past tense of verb done. Singular—I might, could, would or should of jest plumb done gone and done it. —The State (Columbia, SC), 16 Jul. 1893
There are many examples of prominent authors in the 20th century using forms such as could of, typically when rendered as dialogue.
I could of ended marrying the boy, and moving, and being killed, I think, as a punishment … I understand it. —David Mamet, A Scene-Australia (from No One Will Be Immune), 1994 Sure, I could of let you die, but I didn’t. Naw, I kept you with me—off and on. —Langston Hughes, Soul Gone Home (in The Collected Works of Langston Hughes: Vol. 5), 2002 I don’t know how you could of thought that when everybody knowed she’s been married—and she had a son. —James Baldwin, The Amen Corner, 1954 A lot of people cry. They could of heard it … anywhere. —Beth Henley, The Debutante Ball, 1991
The amount of written evidence produced over more than two centuries means that we are inclined to define a word, but it does not mean that we recommend that it be employed (unless, of course, it is for a desired effect).

IT’S OFFICIAL - I AM MOVING !!!
There’s not much reason behind the move that would differ from the last time I had made one of those; I want a fresh start. It ticks me off endlessly how there’s a lot of inactive blogs following me, I can’t stand how my tags are buried so deep under ooc that it makes me way too long to find them. And that’s it. Those are the reasons.
You can find me HERE. Fair warning, it’s still gonna be low-activity, mutuals only and personal blogs will be soft blocked, I came to like this structure and I intend to keep it. Imma reblog this, as well as a promo for the new blog for a couple of days before I completely shut this blog down. Also, all the threads will be tracked and responded to on the new blog
See you on the other side,

Carole’s rec-list :
To start this new event, I will try to share with you some of my favourite French movies…
I cannot give you a list that will give you all the French that you should watch… even for me, who has not a thorough knowledge of French cinema, there would be way too many. But I can try to give you my favourites, and to find a balance between 'classics' and 'just the ones I love'. As you may have noticed, I LOVE cinema, so I will undoubtedly get carried away…
And as I cannot give you as much recs as I would like, I will first give you the names of a few directors that have shaped French cinema and that you should definitely check out, even if I won't recommend movies from all of them here, so if you want more French movies, you can check out their work :
- Jean-Luc Godard
- Jacques Tati
- François Truffaut
- Claude Lelouche
- Jacques Audiard
- Jean-Pierre Melville
- Jean Renoir
- Claude Chabrol
- Jacques Demy
Also, I can't recommend movies with all the actors I like, so here are a few names you should check out if you're interested in more French movies (obviously, the list isn't exhaustive, but I like these actors a lot :) ) :
- Guillaume Canet
- Lambert Wilson
- Albert Dupontel
- François Cluzet
- Mélanie Laurent
- Audrey Tautou
- Marion Cotillard
- Alain Delon
- Jean-Paul Belmondo
- Jean Gabin
- Catherine Deneuve
Alright, now, let's get to business! There's a bit of everything here, I have tried to put a bit of funny and sad movies to keep a balance and all can find something they like. There's no particular order.
Les Demoiselles de Rochefort
1962 - Directed by Jacques Demy, starring Catherine Deneuve, Gene Kelly, Françoise Dorléac, Jacques Perrin, George Chakiris, Danielle Darrieux
Sum-up : For a few days, we follow the life of two twins sisters, living in the small town of Rochefort, who are both looking for love and to escape this tiny town to try to build a career as musician and dancer in Paris. During these few days, the town is shaken by two events : a murder and the arrival of a fair. Characters will walk through the town, and pass by each other, but will the two young women meet the right person?
Carole's critique : This is undoubtedly my favourite French movie of all time, along with my favourite musical movie. After LoTR, it is undoubtedly my favourite movie as well. It's happy, full of colours and characters that you can't help but love. The music, composed by Michel LeGrand, is amazing, and will make you want to dance through your home. The aesthetic of the movie is very representative of the 60's in France and its cinematography at the time: full of colours.
There aren't much musical movies in France, but Jacques Demy shaped the whole genre and gives, with this movie the best French musical movie you will find out there.
YOU MUST SEE IT!
If you like this movie, you should also watch : Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, Peau d'Âne.
Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre
2002 - Directed by Alain Chabat, starring Gérard Depardieu, Christian Clavier, Gérard Darmon, Jamel Debouze, Alain Chabat and Monica Bellucci
Sum-up: During Roman control, a single village resists to the military invasion of the powerful Caesar. Their secret: a magical potion brewed by their druid that gives them an extraordinary strength. When an old Egyptian friend needs help to build Cleopatra the most amazing palace, and knowing that he will be killed if he fails, a group of Gallic travels all the way to Egypt to give him a hand and save his project.
Carole's critique : Astérix and Obélix are very popular comic characters in France. Most of us have grown up reading the comic books as a child. There have been many adaptations on screen of the adventures of the two heroes, but this one is probably the most famous and the best. Directed by Alain Chabat, who started with a little group of friends as a comedy actor, he is known for his crazy but hilarious movies. And with this one, he doesn't disappoint us. It's completely mad, it's goofy and full of mad moments, but it is 100% hilarious. My entire generation knows this movie, and some scenes are now extremely famous. If you want to discover French crazy humour, watch this, you will spend a lovely time.
If you like this movie, you should also watch : La Cité de La peur, Astérix et Obélix aux Jeux Olympiques, Rrrrrr
Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis
2008 - Directed by Dany Boon, staring Danny Boon, Kad Merad.
Sum-up: A postman is transferred from the sunny south of France to the cold north of the country after trying to cheat to be transferred in the town his wife longed to live in. At his arrival in the new town, he has to adapt to the strange accent of his colleagues, along with their food and other habits.
Carole's critique : One of the funniest French movies here again, this film had a HUGE success here, pushing the actors of the movie to the rank of stars in the country. Dealing with the clichés told about the northern part of France (shaped by a lot of mining in the past century, it is often seen as one the poorest part of the country), Dany Boon signs a tender movie about his home. It's hilarious, it's tender, it's happy and will make you feel a bit dizzy. I just hope that the translations will be enough to carry the wordplays used in the movie, as most of the humour relies on that. Anyway, you should definitely watch it.
If you like this movie, you should also watch: Intouchables, Rien à declarer, Un peu, beaucoup, aveuglément
Intouchables
2012 - Directed by Eric Toledano, starring François Cluzet, Omar Sy
Sum-up: After an accident, a wealthy man is paralyzed and needs constant help to get through his day. Looking for someone to help him, he encounters a strange man from the poorest part of town, looking for a job. On impulse, this wealthy man decides to hire him. The two men will soon become close friends, and change each other's life.
Carole's critique: I'm staying on funny movies, because, despite what the sum-up might let you think, this a comedy. Here again, huge success in France (I've also heard of an American reboot in preparation, but what is the point in watching a reboot when you can watch the original thing?). Actors are perfect and dosing perfectly the balance between humour and serious topics treated in this movie, from disability, poverty, racism and life in general. A beautiful movie, spiced with hilarious scenes.
If you like this movie, you should also watch : Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis
La Grande Vadrouille
1966 - Directed by Gérard Oury, starring Louis de Funès, Bourvil
Sum-up: While the country is under German occupation during the Second World War, a group of English soldiers are parachuted in Paris. But they are attacked during the operation, resulting in the scattering of the English soldiers throughout town. A French painter and a French conductor at the opera rescue two of the soldiers, and try to help them escape the German army.
Carole's critique : Here again, a comedy. This is one of the most beloved and famous French movies. Iconic actors De Funès and Bourvil share the screen to result in hilarious scenes that are now extremely famous. It's funny, it deals with the war but do not fear, you will not see anything shocking. The characters are loveable and utterly ridiculous and you will laugh a lot with this movie.
If you like this movie, you should watch : Le Corniaud, La 7ème Compagnie, Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez
Les Tontons Flingueurs
1963 – Directed by Georges Lautner, starring Lino Ventura, Jean Lefebvre, Bernard Blier, Francis Blanche
Sum-up : An ancient mafia member has to take over the business of his oldest friend after he dies. But many envy the business of the dead man, and try to take away the control of the whole mafia.
Carole's critique : A classic. Everyone has watched, or at least heard about this movie. Clearly a parody of American movies, the movie is a very funny comedy. The last of three independent movies adapted from the same series of books, this movie has become over the years one of the most famous French films. And the actors will always be remembered mostly for their role in this masterpiece.
If you like this movie, you should watch : Touchez pas au grisbi, Le cave se rebiffe (the first two movies of the trilogie, even if the three movies are completely independent from one another), l'Aventure c'est l'aventure.
1973 - Directed by Robert Lamoureux, starring Pierre Mondy, Jean Lefebvre, Aldo Maccione, Erik Colin
Sum-up: During the Second World War, a group of soldiers is captured by the German troupes, at the exception of three soldiers, who were sent ahead as scouts, and escape the capture. Trying to run away from the German forces, they encounter a French pilot, whose plane has been shot down. Together, they try to establish communication with their hierarchy and hide from the German army.
Carole's critique : This is the first movie of a trilogy, undoubtedly the best movie of the series of movies, btw. In the same spirit as La Grande Vadrouille, the movie is hilarious, despite the theme and time where the story takes place. I used to watch these movies a lot as a kid.
If you like this movie, you should watch : On a retrouvé la septième companie (the second movie of the trilogy), La Grande Vadrouille, Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire, La Chèvre.
Fantômas
1964 – Directed by André Hunebelle, starring Jean Marais, Louis de Funès, Mylène Demongeot
Sum-up : A famous burglar steals a series of precious jewels. In order to catch the criminal, a police officer and a journalist try to build a trap, but they will soon find out that Fantômas is more dangerous than what they thought.
Carole's critique : This is the first movie of a trilogy, inspired by a series of French novels. This is also my mother's favourite film, so I had to put it here. Once again, the movie is funny (yes, I like funny French movies, as you may have noticed). I also adore Jean Marais, who plays two different roles in this (Fantômas and the journalist). It's funny, and there's adventure, and I love this movie, that is all.
If you like this movie, you should watch : Fantômas se déchaîne, Fantômas contre Scotland Yard (the rest of the trilogy), le Corniaud, Arsène Lupin
L'Arnacoeur
2010 – Directed by Pascal Chaumeil, starring Romain Duris, Vanessa Paradis, François Damiens, Julie Ferrier
Sum-up : A man runs a surprising business : he is a professional 'couple breaker'. People can call him, and ask him to cause the break-up of a friend's or family member's couple. Everything was fine, until he was sent to this special mission, and falls for the woman he is supposed to convince to stop before she can get married.
Carole's critique : My personal favourite French romantic comedy. Because it's hilarious, and tender, and just sweet. If you want something funny and cute, watch this!
If you like this movie, you should watch : Jules et Jim, Paris-Manhattan, Un bonheur n'arrive jamais seul, Un peu, beaucoup, aveuglément, Jeux d'enfants
Un peu, beaucoup, aveuglément
2015 – Directed by Clovis Cornillac, starring Clovis Cornillac, Mélanie Bernier, Lilou Fogli, Philippe Dequesne
Sum-up : A puzzles creator tries to get rid of his new neighbour, a pianist. Indeed, the wall between their two flats is so thin, they can hear everything happening in the other's apartment, and he can't focus when she plays. Failing at convincing her to leave, they try to find a way to live as neighbours despite this very thin wall.
Carole critique : Is this movie a classic? No. Is this the best movie ever? No. But hell, I love it. Because the characters are completely mad and I love them. The story is tender and soft and funny and just cute. A romantic comedy just the way I love them. I advise it if you need something to raise your spirit.
If you like this movie, you should watch : La Délicatesse, Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, l'Arnacoeur, Paris-Manhattan.
La Belle et La Bête
1946 – Directed by Jean Cocteau, starring Jean Marais, Josette Day
Sum-up : An adaptation of the famous tale Beauty and The Beast.
Carole's critique: If Cocteau is very famous for his poetry and art, many tend to forget that he was also a film director, pouring poetry all over his projects. This is an old movie, so obviously the special effects are old, but the movie masters such a strange atmosphere and poetry, that it really doesn't matter at all. Jean Marais and Josette Day are outstanding, and the movie is basically the only adaptation of the tale that is worth being watched.
If you like this, you should also watch : Le Fabuleux destin D'Amélie Poulain, Au revoir là-haut, L'Ecume des jours
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
2001 – Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, starring Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz
Sum-up : We follow the life of a dreamer, Amélie Poulain, through her very peculiar world.
Carole's critique : The movie was and kind of still is an alien. The atmosphere is strange, and the movie is strange too, but full of a weird poetry as well. And when you stop watching it, you feel a bit dizzy, like the world around you isn't so real anymore.
If you like this movie, you should watch : L'écume des jours, La délicatesse
Au Revoir Là-Haut
2017 – Directed by Albert Dupontel, starring Albert Dupontel, Laurent Laffite, Nahuel Pérez Biscayart
Sum-up : After the First World War, two former soldiers decide to organize a fraud using the artistic talents of one of them to create fake war memorials.
Carole's critique : The topic of the movie is obviously not happy. But the movie is surprisingly poetic and tender, dealing with the aftermath of war and terrible injuries in a delicate manner. The atmosphere is poetic, sometimes barely real, owning the film and its strange aesthetic a soft side. Yes, you will probably cry a little bit, but the feeling that this movie leaves is not as sad as it is tender. The best movie about the conflict and its consequences I've watched so far.
If you like this movie, you should watch: Joyeux Noël, La Traversée de Paris, L'Ecume des jours
Le Samouraï
1967 – Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, starring Alain Delon, François Périer, Natalie Delon, Cathy Rosier
Sum-up : An assassin kills his target, but it might be more difficult than planned to get out of it alive and free.
Carole's critique : A dark thriller that is undoubtedly one of Delon's best roles. Alain Delon is one of these icons of French cinema, and he is the best in the genre 'films noirs', that defies these dark thrillers that exploded in the 50s and 60s in France. It's one movie of a dark series of films that bloomed around that time in France. And it's a good one!
If you like this movie, you should watch : Le Guépard, La piscine, Le Clan des Siciliens, Plein soleil, Borsalino, Peur sur la ville
L'Armée Des Ombres
1969 – Directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, starring Lino Ventura, Simone Signoret, Paul Meurisse, Jean-Pierre Cassel
Sum-up : A little group of people try to resist under the Occupation during World War II. But the Gestapo is closing on them.
Carole's critique : It's dark, but it's great! Depicting the resistance under the occupation with a vivid fear of getting caught, this movie is not a happy one. If you are interested in the topic, it's a brilliant movie to watch, but be careful, it's a dark one.
If you like this movie, you should watch : La traversée de Paris, Au revoir là-haut
Quai des brumes
1938 – Directed by Marcel Carné, starring Jean Gabin, Michèle Morgan, Michel Simon, Pierre Brasseur
Sum-up : An army deserter meets a strange girl who is terrified by her godfather. To defend her, he will have many perils to overcome, and the price to pay may be higher than expected.
Carole's critique : A classic. The scenario, written by Jacques Prévert as an adaptation of the novel of the same name, gives a poetic touch to this 'film noir'. And well, it's a masterpiece, what else can I say, it's just a classic. It's also the movie that revealed both Gabin and Morgan, some of the best French actors.
Le Capitan
1960 – Directed by André Hunebelle, starring Jean Marais, Bourvil, Elsa Martinelli
Sum-up : A man tries to protect the interests of the King against powerful men who are scheming against him.
Carole's critique : I used to watch this movie a lot when I was a child. It's a good example of the genre 'Cape et d'épée', that boomed in the 50's and 60's in France. And to me, it's just a lot of memories from my childhood, so I had to put it on the list.
If you like this movie, you should watch : Le Bossu, Le masque de fer, Le capitaine Fracasse, Cartouche, Cyrano de Bergerac, Fanfan la tulipe.
Le cinquième élément
1997 – Directed by Luc Besson, starring Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Milla Jovovich
Sum-up : To save the universe, the five elements must be brought together. But on the side of evil, many people try to capture in the fifth element, a perfect being.
Carole's critique : I mean, this movie is brilliant. It's completely crazy, but undoubtedly one of my favourite Sci-Fi movies! I know it's pretty famous worldwide, but if you haven't watched this, you must see this movie! Gary Oldman's performance is extraordinary, let's be honest.
If you like this movie, you should watch : Léon
Proposed by anon :
Les choristes
Directed by Christophe Barratier, starring Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Jean-Baptiste Maunier, Kad Merad
A new member of the team in a boarding school in 1949 introduces music and singing in the school. This will help the lives of the children there, even through hard times.

Works in Progress Masterpost
Sci Fi Wip: Otherverse
This is my longest work in progress ever, also it’s my joy and my damnation in many ways. And the fact that my writer’s block started while I was working on this, made everything more painful. The only thing I haven’t changed in all these years is the title.
I started working on this WiP around the end of 2012 and first months of 2013 as a setting for an homebrew sci-fi/cyberpunk rpg. Project that was set aside after realizing that it’s not that simple making a role-playing game.I liked the general idea I gave to the setting, so around 2014 I took that project and I started to edit it so it could fit a novel and I continued gathering lots of resources to write it and I started the first chapter around 2016. Then, I completely changed it during summer 2017. I wanted to keep the far future sci-fi part of the idea, but I wanted that the technology and such used in the story were something plausible, so I needed to fix some plot holes and rewrite a bunch of things. I was happy with the edits and the new plot and I started drafting the prologue and the generic route that the story should follow to reach the ending I planned. This lead to this year, 2018, where I noticed a really big bad plot hole. Fixing that plot hole (thank you Interstellar to make me notice it) sadly made all the new story planned the year before completely nonsense. It collapsed on its own. I’m really sad about this but I’m even more determined to complete this novel. It’s like my little kid…a rather rebellious kid that doesn’t want to do what I want. But I love it. If nothing will work, it already have its backstory jotted down and I could fall back to that. I’m not sure, though.
TL;DR version: My oldest wip that is also a pain in the butt working on it, but one day I’ll be able to fix it. Far future sci-fi with plausible technology and completely new worlds.
I made a post for this wip to group all the links about it and also in case I'll return working on it! You can find it here
The WiP in few points:
Sci-Fi with some cyberpunk shades
Far future setting
Plausibile technology (I’m researching a lot for this)
Hard science kind of sci-fi
Realistic feel of the worlds: climate, flora&fauna, aliens, whatever are thought in detail. (other intense researches)
Urban Fantasy WiP: Beyond the Veil
After struggling a lot with my sci-fi, I decided that maybe I should try writing something different from it so my mind would have some time to rest a bit and let all the ideas soak for some time. So I thought about returning to the “origins” and go for something fantasy. Except that I didn’t want something like classic high fantasy and the likes, so I decided to go for an urban fantasy that was different from the urban fantasy I’m used to see in bookstores (here all the shelf are filled with Twilight-styles novels. Nothing against them, but I feel that the love triangle with supernatural beings is a tad bit overused).
The characters are born before the plot. Like, they literally spawned in my mind while reading some writing prompts and because of that, this wip is more like a weird blob of scenes without a fixed plot to connect them.
After thinking for some time, I think that I may have found the plot that “clicks” and that is simple and perfect to connect all the scenes and ideas that I have for this story.
I’ll send you to my wip page at this link where you’ll find a sythetic plot, something about the characters and links to the excerpts/snippets I shared here.
What I’m planning for this WiP:
A nice blend of creatures and other things from different mythologies and folklores (well, at least I’ll try)
Lots of LGBT+ and poc characters
Genies/Djinns
Faeries
Sirens (not merfolk, but something that looks like classic greek sirens)
Supernatural beings mixed with humans (well, most of them)
A revisitation of witches/wizards
Werebeasts. Not your common werewolves.
Wip 3 - Collection of shorts stories
In these years I found a bunch of scenes, ideas for some stories and similar things set aside in a folder in my laptop or in a notebook in my room. I liked some of them so I thought that I could rewrite the ones I liked and shape them into short stories that I could put togheter in a single collection.
At the moment, I have the first short story on in its third draft and it’s going through the latest edits before completion while the others are still in their “embryonic” phase.
Biblical Horror - In the Pits of Hell
It was quite some time since I had this idea in the backburner, since when the staff in the rpg I was playing started to ruin nice plots to show off their over powered characters and ruining the game for the other players...or maybe even before that, since I found old notes about a horror-themed story with devils, fallen angels, Hell and other things like that.
So, in the end, I decided to start jotting down something and trying to find the right plot that works between the ideas I have floating in my mind.
You can find this wip's page with the links to excerpts/snippets/ect here
What I'd like to put in this WiP:
Biblical stuff like angels, fallen angels, devils/demons, Hell, Heaven, and so on
Horror stuff, so there will be some blood&gore I think. But not too much because I personally dislike gratuitous gore.
War between Heaven and Hell
A plot
One of the ideas had something about the Apocalypse, but I still have to see how to make it work with the other ideas.
Another idea was to try to make the plot fit at least few parts of the plots used for some quests that got ruined in the already mentioned rpg.
Not sure if the title will stay there or not, but as for now it fits.
If I'll change the title, this one will be used as chapter title.
[Italian version under the cut! / Versione in italiano a seguire!]
Molti personaggi LGBT+ e POC
Geni/Djinni
Fate
Roba biblica come angeli, angeli caduti, diavoli/demoni, Inferno, Paradiso, e così via.

Chakaman chakaman chakaman chakaman, sandaleeee!!
I stopped to journal when I went back to the apartment. One sign of not being able to take care of myself. Let me try to recap how the past 9?? days went.
1.06
Went back to the apartment. Was dropped off by papa and kuya. I’m trying to recall what went on that day. Some of the outsanding details were:
felt sad after they left
we all forgot abt virus stop which mama had repeatedly mentioned because kuya was in a hurry to leave
karl was sleeping when we arrived, and I found out a couple of minutes upon entering the room that he has a fever.
just feeling sad all through this day
observing Shorty and feeling sad for her because she definitely missed having other dogs around her.
papa cooked kinilaw for me and he was even asking if he should cook hipon so that I have something to eat without having to prepare anything myself. Tangina nakakafragile kapag iniisip ko.
There's not much I can recall on this day but I was definitely sad to leave home and face back reality.

I remember still firing on my TP desktop to glance and have a final look at what is going on. 4 out of 5 onsite agents are out for the day with 3 calling in sick, while the other one calling in personal having to take care of a nephew. I only was able to speak to Jeff and was able to say my farewell to him. Oh now I remember that Mama made me a couple of cream puff to give to my agents, sad to say that most of them are out sick and I did not get the chance to give it to them as farewell and new year's gift. Spoke with Jeff, exchanged a few kind words and he told me that he is now planning to resign
I sent jeff two boxes of cream puff through lalamove. I was apparently the only reason he is considering for staying but now that I am leaving, he also decided to move on to a different company. Nonetheless, I encouraged him to think and make sure that he secures a new work before filing his resignation. One thing stuck was when he thought I already logged out, he sent a message saying. "Boss naaiyak ako huhu. . . wala lang hindi ka na magrereply ulit dito. .Boss salamat sa lahat po"
I want to stop thinking about this day na, not much happened.

This was a Saturday, fuck my life I do not recall anything at all, nakakainis. Upon editing this though I remember that Raymond cooked tinola for us. What a great friend!

This was a Sunday and this is everything that is wrong with me not journaling. I barely get to remember the things going on in my life because I was blessed witht the memory of a goldfish. I guess that was my fancy way of saying tangina wala na naman akong maalala. Hahahaha since I edited the post, I remembered that Raymond cooked stir-fried beef, and beef steak for us tangina, thank you Lord for sending Mondy our way!

Officilly started my work with AT, and the funny thing is that I was already awake by 12:00 midnight. Practically struggeled to go through on-boarding towards the latter part of my shift due t having been awake too early. I don't have much to say pero my energy got drained with all the introductions I had to do. Ugh!!"
**Added this after second edits I fired my TP pc on one last time to check on emails, check and make sure reports are working, one last glance with GCs and agents' sentiment and I would say that they are not on the best state. I hope they get the leader they deserve. I sent my goodbyes to my team and I was crying so bad with having to finally say farewell and I guess this is when reality hit me. I will be leaving people who I've known and worked with for 5 years! Kumikirot yung puso ko when I sent my farewell message in our GC. I wish my team the best. They do not deserve anything less. Thank you TP for giving me 5 years of experience, memories, and growth!! You accepted me when I thought I could make nothing out of myself. You might not have been the best but you definitely have your own highs!
1.11 - 1.14
I had to cheat 4 days into one entry because I feel like I can no longer do this. Mainly here is how my week progressed:
attended so many meetings with my camera on
feeling ugly all the goddamn time
getting sick so I finally had the excused to not turn my cam during sessions, fuck yeah this is probabaly the highlight of my week.
ohmz getting me a new work chair hehehe so fucking happy with it!!!! like as I type it I am genuinely happy.
surviving my first week of work with the new company
Also capped my Friday night with watching Encanto. I would say it was worth the hype but the real MVP is really Tio Bruno, yanno. Working behind the scenes, trying to keep the place from falling apart even though he did not fall into his family's narrative.
May I have the strenght to go through the days on a good mental state

Les Crudettes, Mondi & IMA scoop awards for paper packaging
Mondi, a global enterprise in packaging and paper; IMA Ilapak, a company engaged in the design and manufacture of automatic machines for packaging and Les Crudettes, a French company in the fresh vegetable market, have won three prizes at the French packaging award and the Trophées de l’innovation LSA for a new paper packaging.
Mondi developed a recyclable functional barrier paper, which is converted on VFFS machines of IMA Ilapak for a selection of Les Crudettes’ pre-washed, ready-to-eat salads.
Their solution won the environment and production categories at the French packaging awards as well as the Trophées de l’innovation LSA.
Les Crudettes decided to replace the plastic bags for its fresh salads with Mondi’s new packaging. The new solution is 95% paper and verified as recyclable in the waste paper stream in France while keeping the salad fresh for up to 10 days - the same amount of time as with the previous plastic packaging. Mondi used its EcoSolutions approach to work closely with Les Crudettes in order to help the company meet its sustainability goals of reducing the amount of plastic in its packaging. The new packaging also supports Mondi’s MAP2030 sustainability goal to make 100% of its products reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025.

IMA Ilapak's R&D efforts have resulted in the first solution specifically designed to perform using paper while ensuring the same performance as plastic packaging materials. The Vegatronic 6000 bagging machines produced for Les Crudettes are part of the Corporate Sustainability Program IMA Zero and IMA NOP (No Plastic) which have the ultimate goal of minimizing environmental impact in industrial manufacturing, embodying the Group’s dedication to change and aims to make a positive and eco-friendly impact.
Falk Paulsen, Sales and Business Development director Functional Paper and Films, Mondi says, “The key to getting fit-for-purpose packaging solutions is to ask the right questions, and these awards recognize that. We worked closely with Les Crudettes and their machine manufacturer IMA Ilapak to ensure the transition to our functional barrier paper was smooth and effective, resulting in a truly ground-breaking packaging that can now be rolled out across other food groups.”
Géraldine Collet, Marketing and Innovation director, Les Crudettes adds, “Making changes like this when existing solutions have worked for three decades is always a challenge for brands. When there is a strong desire to create better products and sustainable packaging, combined with collaborative effective ways of working, you often find success. These awards, given by packaging and retail experts, are a recognition of our ground-breaking innovation for the ready-to-eat salads market.”
Grégoire Duvot, managing director at IMA Ilapak France, says, "These 2021 French packaging awards are the result of our IMA Ilapak R&D efforts to run quicker on vertical form fill seal machines when using paper-based material. In line with the IMA group's NOP ('NO Plastic') project, our ultimate goal, we are accompanying manufacturers towards recyclable packaging, with profound consultancy on machine compatibility of different materials.”

The new street performance WALL CRACKS by Teatro Due Mondi is produced in the frame of the European Project MAUERSPRINGER - Wall Jumpers. It is the result of a long creative process that has started seven years ago when the ensemble from Faenza gave birth to Borderless, a theatre workshop with Italian non professional actors and refugees that have been arriving in Italy since then. Ignorance rises walls while knowledge makes them tumble down. WALL CRACKS is a show about high walls of division that still are built day by day. There are so many of them that they look like a gigantic labyrinth when you watch them from the sky. The actors will be stopped by these walls, they will try to get to the other side but they are refused. They will try it again and again and search for new ways. But if you don’t have a valid passport or if you are different you won’t get through.

The X, Koichiro Shigeno, Ivana Fisher, have succeeded in the enterprise of a dark gothic, exotic, electronic and classical sound in the structure of the song. The Music is frozen, inert, spectral. Dark harmonies are interwoven with cadences (mostly electronic) from occult ceremonials. At the same time, the production highlights more and more the bright and abstract vocal of Ivana J Fisher with her travels in the subconscious As well as the arrangements by Shigeno and The X, luxuriant complement the spectral simplicity of the voval of the Fisher The trio has in fact manufactured a artificial balance between those that are actually two completely different artistic worlds.Dance Of The Black Widow (Lyrics)by Ivana J Fisher "So my question to you is simple and yet sharp as a knife, Are you living a life of death or the death of your life? Is death coming suddenly, or are you just wasting away? Which of these morose questions holds the truth I cannot say, With one hand you're watching your life decay, On the other you're waiting for your last day, Whichever of these statements you feel is true, The end of your life is all it comes down to. Let the rain kiss you Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops Let the rain sing you a lullaby The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk The rain makes running pools in the gutter The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night And I love the rain.Light rain-drops fall and wrinkle the sea, Then vanish, and die utterly. One would not know that rain-drops fell If the round sea-wrinkles did not tell.So souls come down and wrinkle life And vanish in the flesh-sea strife. One might not know that souls had place Were't not for the wrinkles in life's face."
